About the author
My name is Alexander Ipfelkofer, I am from Bavaria and I have been on the net since back in the days of fidonet. We operated our own BBS node in Nuremberg, Germany back in 1990. We were there when the first IRC chat rooms came into existence and #channel parties were the hip thing. I guess that makes me a veteran netizen.
Looking back, gaming was always a huge factor in my life. I had every game console (Colecovison is still one of my favorite) and every PC, starting with a C64 and an Atari 1024ST+. 1984 I got my first 8086 IBM CP/M-86. I played practically any game I could get my hands on, really any game, any platform. You name it, I played it. I was and still am really into RPGs big time (remember SSI?).
My first connection to the “net” was with a 2400 baud acoustic coupled modem like the ones you can see in the movie “Wargames” (1983).
1990 I started a little band project as a singer, making our own indie rock/pop music. Then in 1993 I stepped onto the stage acting in Shakespeare and other modern plays in English and German (2000-2004, Vienna). In September 2004 I moved to France for my new job. Being on stage was one of the most exciting and fulfilling experiences in my life. Meanwhile, the present offers plenty of thrills on its own and working for one of the top video game companies world wide is a dream come true.
2008 I sold all my film camera equipment and went digital with a Canon EOS 50D. I have a 50mm f/1.4, a 10-22mm UW lens, a 35mm f/1.4, a 24-105mm f/4 so far and love to shoot just about anything, urban, street, landscape, anything really including my Star Wars Lego collection. If you like to get in touch with me for a shoot, drop me a line here.
