My husband and I just got HBO watch the series could hardly wait to watch the show there were a couple of days that is all we did was watch Deadwood all day, if we had know the show was going to leave us hanging we never would have started watching.To tell you the truth that is the only show I found on HBO that was worth watching, now we are canceling the HBO until they bring Deadwood back .
I just finished watching all three seasons of Deadwood. I loved that show, but I can’t believe the ending…or lack thereof. Bring it back!!! I would love to see a season 4! If you HBO cocksuckers can’t do a season 4, then at least finish the show with some kind of ending. I think I speak for many that we want the loose ends tied up. The acting was incredible; the characters were well-defined. I thought Swengen (lol) was the greatest cocksucker of all. The Jew and the whore and Jane and Ms. Stubbs all tickled me. I have never seen a show that had such personality. It REALLY needs to come back. Are you listening HBO? Read these comments! Listen to the viewers. Bring it back or tie it up in a nice little bow for us.

Bring it back. Just finished watching season 3 and was looking for season 4 only to find this link. In my disbelief, I checked Amazon to be sure. How can this be? I find it hard to believe there is not an audience for such an amazing series. I was never ‘into’ the westerns before Deadwood. But the acting, characters and overall plot have left me hooked!
If HBO cannot sell such high quality entertainment, then their own advertising is at fault. Sell story to BBC, there are plenty of Deadwood fans here in the UK.

Much to my dismay, I know that there will never be a Deadwood Season 4. I find myself thrilled when I spot the Deadwood actors in movies or tv series and know that they are alive and well and employed…even if the part is “blah” compared to their Deadwood character. I really wish Timothy Olyphant could let loose with a string of choice cuss words as U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens on FX’s “Justified.” Oh well.
I’m a Deadhead for Deadwood – on my 6th time watching the series and was sooooo bummed out that there was no season 4. I agree withe the Justified role Tim Olyphant is now playing as US Marshal Raylon Givens. Thank god he’s in another TV series.
But I’m holding David Milch to the two 2 hour TV specials they are promising to wrap it up. It’s the least they could do for us.
I think if the following for Deadwood would have happened when it was on we obviously would not be here, but it’s taken on a cult like following now. I just started and finished watching deadwood. a little late i agree but i feel the same way all of you do. it seems to me all hbo cares about is money. i love a lot of there shows but they dont seem to listen to what there people want and the sad thing is if they keep it up like they have been doing less and less people are going to stop watching hbo. it really pisses me off to end a show they way they did. not proffesional at all.
I believe I just may stay away from HBO altogether from here on out. After watching deadwood. i said the same thing to myself after watching Carnivale. They abruptly end the series with no proper ending same as deadwood. Very unprofessional.
DeadWood was the BEST series I have yet to see. I would not have cared to watch it weekly as most viewers had to do. I never heard of it until it was recommended to me at the local video store.
I picked up the First Season and couldn’t shut it off. I watched the whole first season in one night and early morning. and ran to the video store for Season Two.
I was very disappointed to hear the video store clerk tell me the series was cancelled.
After watching season two, I was wondering if the Hearst Corporation had anything to do with shutting the series down, since the series showed George to be a criminal.
I just finished Season Three this morning, and did a search to find more info.

Finished watching season 3 a couple days ago… I knew shortly after starting season 1 that there was no real ending but come on! Ending it there was just pitiful. I’m so disappointed now. I already miss Al.

I don’t know where you people came from, but due to my experiences in life I am no longer surprised by the blatant disregard for the wishes of the less wealthy. To clarify, imagine HBO is George Hurst.
Furthermore, we should be grateful that HBO ever gave us Deadwood at all. Most of Hollywood is so incompetent that they constantly remake or remaster old classics because their infrastructure for producing films is so decrepit. There are probably three movies a year at the current production rate worth seeing in theaters. Most of all the good screen work is being done on TV series now, like Game of Thrones, Deadwood, Rome, so an on so forth. Even if HBO is so clueless that they always seem to cancel shows right as they catch mainstream. Oh well, atleast they move on to another wonderfully incomplete series. I wonder when they’ll cancel Game of Thrones. probably after this second season.
HBO announced the cancellation of “Luck” apparently because of the death of three horses. I’m so sad that any animal died – BUT perhaps this might be the time for HBO to consider doing a final 2-hr episode of Deadwood – sending it off into the sunset and letting us diehard fans rest in peace. What da ya think? Also spotted Tom Nuttall (the great Leon Rippy) on Fox’s “Alcatraz” playing the role of Dr. Milton Beauregard…..OMG he’s pure evil….I liked him a lot better as the Angel on Saving Grace and, of course, Tom Nuttall.

I just finished Deadwood Season 3 and am thoroughly disappointed there is no season 4. I thought my wife was made a mistake when she said thats the last disk of the last season. It is one of the best series I have ever seen.
The “Cocksuckers” at HBO need to take their heads from their asses and not screw their viewers. Im shocked they left everyone hanging like this.
It’s a dam shame, Deadwood was a great show!!

I just want to say how much I loved this show. Didn’t watch it while it was on HBO for I didn’t have HBO but started renting disc after disc and freaking love it. The foul mouthed drunk Jane was my favorite. She was HILARIOUS. Loved her. Really wish they wouldnt have cancelled it especially with Mr Timothy olyphant. Yummy.

I’ve heard ‘Arrested Development,’ a show which was cancelled and had not aired for a few years, is now going back on air, SO WHY NOT DEADWOOD?! I can’t help but think the show is a metaphor where HBO is Hearst and the plan all along was to leave the people of Deadwood (the viewers) hung out to dry after building us up for 3 of the best seasons any show has ever aired.

absolutely we should talk about a fourth season, this show while directed at a different audience, was on its way to being possibly an entourage. this show had depth, and charecters that compelled me. a story line that a guy could beleive, bec ause it was of a real cloth, it had a gritty feel and an absolute honesty to it. although they forced the show to come to such a weak ending, that would make it easier to just run off into a fourth season. allow the fans that did love it and watch it religiously to have theyre last season, with a bloody end, “let the hoople heads have theyre way”!

I have 2 episodes left to watch of Season 2 and knowing that it’s going to end after Season 3 it’s tempting to stop watching now to avoid the disppointment, the problem is I LOVE IT!!! I dream about this show, it’s amazing. The talent in this show is stagering as well. I really hope they at least tie things up, by the sound of the other posts I am going to upset with the way things are left.
Deadwood was one of the most well acted shows EVER! We just finished re-watching the dvd’s for the second time. Who is in charge of making these decisions at HBO? I hope they’ve been fired and that a seanson 4 is in the works.
I can’t belive that there is no season 4. HBO is starting to remind me of FOX cancal a good show because they don’t get it. Can of reminds me of Fire Fly, look at the following of that show. Deadwood used what i thought was modern Shakespeare of the old west, and the chacters were easy to get to know and care about enough to look them up on-line to know more about them.
My girlfriend and I had rented seasons 1-3 of Deadwood and fell in love with the show and the characters. After watching ssn.3 we fully expected a ssn.4 just because of the way the show ended. My heart sunk when we found there was no ssn.4. We Need Closure! Please HBO.

Did they ever make the 2 movies of 2 hours each? If they have where can you buy them. Have seen Season 1-3 and I want to know how the ending of series goes. Why don’t HBO over comment? I guess because they know they are wrong in cancelling season 4 and then not producing the 2 x 2 hour tv movies that were mean to be the compromise that finished the story. Can money really be an issue for them considering as everyone says, the other good stuff they do eg. Rome, Game of Thrones etc. don’t seem to have budgetary issues. There must be a good reason – reckon we would just like to know what it is!
